Sheet Mask Review: MediHeal NMF Aquaring

MediHeal NMF Aquaring Review

I’ve had such great success with the other two MediHeal Sheet Masks, which you can see the reviews here and here. I just have to add another one to the mix! This MediHeal N.M.F Aquaring mask is supposed to help keep you hydrated and make your skin feel a bit tighter — i’m assuming this means anti-aging. When doing a little research, it’s also supposed to help with controlling sebum (oil) and minimize the appearance of your pores.

It’s a cellulose sheet mask which means it holds the serum into the applicator much longer than a traditional paper mask would, the fibers are made from cotton and woven tighter. This mask contains hyaluronic acid (boosting hydration) and ceramide (protect your skin from environmental irritants) which help lock in moisture.

Let’s get into it! So it’s been super cold (and dry) here in northern California, and i’ve been breaking out a lot lately, so i’ve been turning to my sheet masks for a quick fix. This mask seems to check all the boxes of both sebum control and hydration — great! This mask feels great to apply, it’s super smooth/soft and i’m sure it’s because of the cellulose material. It stays stuck to the face nicely, so no slipping or constant adjustments. I have to say that this mask has a really nice fresh scent with some subtle floral undertones. I don’t typically like fragrance in my skincare, so this was a nice surprise. The mask itself is pretty standard. After removing the mask my skin looked really dewy and fresh, but I started to become a bit more disappointed as time went on. The serum didn’t absorb well into my skin and it stayed sticky on my face. So if you do get this mask, highly recommend using it at night. I also noticed, after it “dried” and if I rubbed my face slightly the essence would roll off. Kinda gross…

The next day the sticky texture did go away, or it just may have wiped off on my pillow… My skin looked extremely hydrated, but because I already have oily skin I literally looked like an oil slick. SO if you have dry skin, this mask may be better suited for you. Overall, this isn’t one of my favorite sheet masks to date, and much prefer the other two i’ve tried.

What I like About it

  • Doesn’t slide off the face during application.

  • It has nice fresh/floral scent.

  • It’s hydrating, my skin looked super dewy after application.

What Don’t I like About it

  • After you remove the mask and the serum didn’t really soak into my skin.

  • It’s sticky.

  • I’ve noticed once the mask “dries”, if you rub your face, the essence starts to roll off.

  • Must use it at night.

  • This mask claims that it’s been designed for “optimized fit”, but really the mask is super wide — which wraps under your chin nicely but my nose, like with all sheet masks, has been left out.

  • Gave me a very oily appearance in the AM. Too intense for my skin type.

How to use

After you cleanse and tone your face, apply sheet mask to face. Wait 10-20 minutes. Remove the sheet mask and tap the remaining essence into your skin, let dry.
