Sheet Mask Review: MediHeal HDP

MediHeal face mask To Dew List

Another sheet mask I got while in Asia is this MediHeal HDP Pore-Stamping Black Mask EX, which is made in Korea. Side note, why are Korean skincare product names always so long? This black mask is basically supposed to make you look like you just got a facial.

Ingredients included are mushroom, which is typically used for lightening but also to treat any irritations or inflammation. Sodium PCA, which is already a naturally occurring ingredient in our skin and helps keep things moisturized. Centella asiatica extract which helps with sebum control. In addition to those great things, it’s also supposed to have a lifting effect, make your skin feel really soft, control oil and purify the skin. Sounds magical!

Application was pretty straightforward, and like any traditional sheet mask. The nose part doesn’t go all the way to the tip, and it didn’t fully cover my forehead (I don’t have fivehead so it was pretty narrow up there). Overall I really liked the mask, didn’t sting or burn, felt really soothing once applied. Once the mask was removed, I really liked how smooth my skin felt. It didn’t irritate my skin at all, keeping it neutral in tone.

The next day my skin was glowing, and totally even in tone. Feel like the mushroom ingredient really took effect. It also helped reduce the small congested pores/bumps on my face making my skin incredibly smooth. Really impressed with this mask.

What I like About it

  • It doesn’t smell at all.

  • The mask/serum feels really smooth on your face.

  • There was enough product in the packet to massage into my neck.

  • Made my skin tone even, I looked fresh-faced!

What Don’t I like About it

  • Didn’t slim or lift my face as promised, but I wasn’t expecting much on that anyway…

  • Doesn’t cover the tip of my nose (which sheet mask does?).

  • There was a little tingling sensation when I took the mask off and the serum was drying.

  • Doesn’t totally absorb into the skin so it leaves a sticky residue until you wash your face. Would recommend using this at night.

How to use

After cleansing and toning, you place the mask on your face for about 10-20 minutes. Once you remove the mask, blend in any remaining essence into your skin and let dry. The brand recommends using the mask 2-3 times a week.
