Are you familiar with Cocokind? If not, let’s talk about them for a moment. They are based out of San Francisco and have created everything from masks to make up. Their products cater to all skin types, and most of their formulas contain certified organic ingredients. They not only urge you to recycle their products, a message seen throughout their site, but and go above and beyond skincare.

They started the Cocokind Impact Foundation which provides grants to female (identifying) entrepreneurs who are trying to build a business within the wellness, health and sustainability industries. They select one applicant each year, and zero in on individuals who are trying to make a social impact through their business. They have funded people like Elizabeth Stein (Purely Elizabeth), July Nguyen (Methodology) and Samantha Abrams (Emmy’s Organics). Not to mention, they’ve been incredibly vocal around the Black Lives Matter movement and totally transparent about their growth regarding diversity and inclusion. Got your attention yet?

So let’s talk about their products. I fell in love with them after I reviewed the Resurfacing Sleep Mask for the Bob Cut Mag earlier this year. When Cocokind launched their pore refining Celery Duo, I was interested but skeptical. Most brands that claim their products reduce the appearance of your pores, always fail to deliver. So what about this set? First impressions… the duo works seamlessly into any AM/PM routine (how to use instructions below). Texture wise, the Pore Refining Concentrate is more like a serum, goes on lightweight and dries fast. The Texture Smoothing Cream is very light weight and settles into the skin nicely with no greasy reside left behind. The smell? My husband said I smell like a fresh green juice when i’m wearing it, not really mad about it, it reminds me to make a green juice…

For those who don’t know me, I have oily, acne prone skin with very large pores. So does it work? Yes. I did notice a slight blurring effect in the appearance of my pores after a few days. Within a few weeks my skins texture looked fantastic. Makeup applied more seamlessly on top, and I felt more confident without makeup on. I highly recommend this product!

What I like About it

  • They are a natural skincare company.

  • Both products settle onto the skin really nicely without leaving any residue behind.

  • A little of the concentrate goes a long way.

  • It actually works.

  • Smells great, like a green juice. This may be too strong for some if you don’t like celery.

  • It’s affordable.

What Don’t I like About it

  • I’m not sure I like the roller ball packaging, I can’t control product output.

How to use

So you can use these products together or independently of one another. For better results I recommend together.

After you cleanse, tone, and treat your skin, roll the pore refining concentrate on the areas you want to improve. Once dry, follow with the texture smoothing cream. Can be applied AM or PM.
