K-beauty brand CNP Laboratory, created Propolis Energy Ampule Mask, a two step sheet mask that’s supposed to provide nutrients and hydration to the skin. Both steps contain propolis (bee glue) extract from bee hives, which is supposed to have antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Basically natures antibiotic. So I was expecting some big results here, considering it won a Great Skin Awards back in 2016.

First impressions: Step one, the oil-like serum glided on my face smoothly, it didn’t take long for it to dry. I will say this first step didn’t completely sink into the skin, leaving a greasy reside behind — probably the glycerin. The purpose of this step is to make your face look dewy, which it did. My face did look shiny AF. Step two was pretty standard, this was the face mask part and was really thick making it hard to stay put. There was a sweet fragrance to this serum, maybe the sweet smell of honey?

After removing the mask my skin looked OK? I was maybe expecting my face to look nice a plump. After the product dried my face didn’t really appear brighter like the product promises to do. It took a few hours for the products to really sink into my skin. The next morning I woke up really fresh faced, no irritations or breakouts.. I will say this mask would be great if you want to wake up tired skin, but I wouldn't say it's mind-blowing.

What I like About it

  • I love the propolis ingredient.

  • Felt the two step allowed for my opportunities of hydration.

  • Next morning I did have glowing skin.

What Don’t I like About it

  • Step 1 ampule, while it isn’t sticky, it does leave a greasy residue behind.

  • The mask itself is a bit thick, so it doesn’t do a great job of staying in place.

  • Once I removed the sheet mask my face was quite sticky.

  • Took a long time for the product to absorb.

  • I don’t recommend using this as an AM mask.

How to use

Apply step 1 of the mask, the ampule, to your entire face after you cleanse and tone your skin. Massage serum into face, let dry. Once dry, apply step 2, the mask. Leave on for 15-20 mins. Remove mask and pat any remaining essence into the face, no washing necessary.
