Based in Texas, Avya Skincare created a line of products dedicated to people who have more melanin levels in their skin. Why is this cool? Because the levels of melanin come with different challenges. For example, if you have low levels of melanin you may be more susceptible to environmental damage that can lead to skin cancer, while if you have higher levels of melanin you may have more pigmentation irregularities. Oh science…

Throughout their collection, they use a signature blend of peony, neem, and turmeric which is packed with antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits! I was gifted Avya’s Signature Skincare Set and first have to call out their eye bright cream. This particular product blends that trio of ingredients with caffeine (improves circulation and reduces puffiness) and cassava (tightens fine lines). They’ve also include ingredients like hyaluronic acid, mushroom extract, almond extract and goji berry extract. Basically a well rounded product that tackles fine lines/wrinkles while brightens and de-puffs.

Normally i’m pretty skeptical of eye creams that promise to do it all, because they typically don’t do it all. But this one has changed my point of view. I saw results after one week of using it. My fine lines around my eyes started to blur, the skin around my eyes looked a little tighter and I had no issues with puffy eyes. Not to mention it has a really nice peony scent to it that my husband keeps commenting on. xx

The formula itself is super light weight, almost watery or like a serum, so I didn’t expect it to make a huge hydration impact. My assumptions were wrong, not only did it provide hydration to my eye area it absorbed nicely into the skin without leaving any greasy residue behind. I’m also a fan that you can use it ALL around your eye without any irritations, I hate when you can’t do that with eye creams. What’s the point?

For best results use before you put on your moisturizer, that way it helps lock in the benefits. Overall i’d highly recommend this product!

What I like About it

  • The formula is light weight, texture almost feels like a serum.

  • You can use this cream all around the eye.

  • My fine lines disappeared overnight (or so it seemed)!

  • The texture of my skin around the eyes just looked tighter overall.

  • Doesn’t leave any oily residue behind, absorbs pretty quickly into the skin.

  • Has a subtle smell of Peony which I actually like.

What Don’t I like About it

  • It’s a bit on the pricy side.

  • I cracked the top when I accidentally dropped the bottle. So this is unrelated to the product itself, maybe a thicker cap?

How to use

Gently apply 1-2 pumps of the product around the eye. Apply before your moisturizer for better results.
