Tetrahydrocurcumin (Turmeric)

What is Turmeric

Pronounced `tər-mə-rik also known as Tetrahydrocurcumin. It’s extracted from the curcuma longa root, which is part of the ginger family.

What will it do?

Turmeric is very high in antioxidants with helps fight free radicals caused by UV, pollution and other environmental factors. It’s an anti-inflammatory, so it’s a great ingredient to calm your skin if you suffer from acne or eczema. It’s also known to help calm swelling, treat mild burns or wounds, and reduce the appearance of acne scars — this is done by reducing oxidation and inflammation. Can also delay the formation of melanin, basically brightening or lightening your skin — known for making your skin glow.

Scientists are still studying the benefits of tetrahydrocurcumin as a treatment to various skin conditions/irritations.

Tip

This is a great ingredient to even out your skin tone if you suffer from hyperpigmentation or easily scar from acne.

Depending on the type of turmeric, it could stain the skin or leave a yellow residue.
