Cleansing Water: Bioderma

What is cleansing water? It’s water with a small amount of oil called micelles in it which absorbs dirt and oil, versus just moving it around on your face. I personally fell in love with cleansing water because it acts not only as a make up remover, but it can also be a cleanser and toner. I don’t advise using these products in place of a daily toner or cleanser, but it is great to have a 3-in-1 when traveling or before/after a workout.

By adding this step into my PM routine, not only have I reduced the amount of dirt that seems to get stuck in my pores, but i’ve saved my white towels from makeup residue. If you’re looking to try a cleansing water, Bioderma is my current favorite! It easily removes all of my makeup, including waterproof, as well as the dirt and oil from the day. Bioderma has cleansing water for all skin types: sensitive skin, dry skin, very dry/atopic sensitive skin and acne prone skin.

I highly recommend this French staple before you wash your face — it doesn’t dry you out!

Pro Tip

A makeup artist friend of mine told me she uses Bioderma to clean her makeup brushes. I’ve tested this, and it works better than brush soap!

How to Use

You can use this product at anytime of the day: when you wake up, post work out, or as a pre-cleanse at night. It’s quick and simple: you soak a cotton pad with the water and cleanse or remove your makeup from your face and eyes. Keep doing this until the cotton pad becomes clean (typically about 2-3 times). After everything has been removed, you can either do a proper cleanse or just pat your face dry.
